#Irapuato, #Guanajuato.- With the goal of promoting road safety and preventing accidents, the Municipal Government headed by President Lorena Alfaro García, in coordination with the Secretariat of Citizen Security, is promoting actions aimed at motorcycle riders, encouraging the mandatory use of certified helmets.
The call is especially directed at young people, who represent the largest number of motorcycle users, to value their lives and physical integrity while riding.
It is important to note that motorcyclists should comply with the following provisions:
Ride a maximum of two people per motorcycle.
Wear appropriate protective equipment.
Do not transport minors.
Carry the required documentation (driver’s license, registration card, license plates).
Failure to comply with these provisions is punishable by a fine of between 10 and 15 Units of Measure and Update, according to Article 89 of the Traffic Regulations.
María Laguna, head of the Road Safety and Accident Prevention Department, explained that although helmet use does not prevent accidents, it does significantly reduce the risk of serious head injuries.
