#StateOfHidalgo, #Mexico.- The Governor of Hidalgo, Julio Menchaca Salazar, officially received a donation of 200 packages of school furniture from the state oil company, Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), reinforcing the entity’s educational infrastructure. This contribution is a result of the strong cooperative efforts established between the productive enterprise and the Governor’s Office. Menchaca Salazar emphasised the strategic importance of this partnership, acknowledging that «Education is the most powerful instrument for transformation, and along this path, over these three years of administration, we have had an impressive, very important accompaniment from Pemex.»
The substantial donation includes a total of 8,565 desks, along with 200 blackboards, 200 teachers’ chairs, 200 desks, and 200 storage cabinets. These items are scheduled for immediate distribution to various basic education centres across Hidalgo, ensuring that students and teachers benefit directly from the improved facilities. Marcela Villegas Silva, Corporate Director of Administration and Services at Pemex, highlighted that these social responsibility initiatives are part of the company’s commitment to the key communities involved in the country’s petroleum development.
Ms Villegas Silva specified that this particular delivery is an «act of gratitude» directed towards Tula and, most significantly, the children residing in that area, aiming to provide them with «fitting premises for their learning». Concurrently, Mario Delgado Carrillo, Secretary of Public Education for the Government of Mexico, took the opportunity of the Ministry’s 104th anniversary to emphasise that there is «no more useful investment than teaching». He affirmed that Pemex’s donation contributes directly to guaranteeing decent educational spaces and effectively reducing inequality gaps.
Secretary Delgado Carrillo framed the initiative within the national governmental mandate: «It is precisely on this second floor of the Fourth Transformation, led by our President Claudia Sheinbaum, that we are working for an educating, humanist, and scientific republic.» He passionately contended that under this vision, education will be a «sacred right and never again a privilege» or a commodity accessible only to a select few. The collective effort underscores a renewed focus on educational equity and dignity across the state.
