My commitment is to ensure the safety of residents and visitors to Plaza Mítikah: Mayor Luis Mendoza / @LuisMendozaBJ @BJAlcaldia
#CiudadDeMéxico, #México.- Mayor Luis Mendoza Acevedo announced that a thorough Civil Protection and administrative review will be conducted at each of the establishments located within Plaza Mítikah to verify that they are in safe operating conditions and to guarantee the safety of visitors. Until then, the plaza will remain closed and sealed off.
The mayor personally visited the site along with Civil Protection and Verification teams from the mayor’s office to inspect the building, especially the elevator area, where a malfunction occurred on the night of Tuesday, August 12, leaving two people injured.
He toured the parking lot and various hallways of the shopping center. «Today I am here with the team from the Benito Juárez mayor’s office and Civil Protection, specifically with verification, to conduct a general inspection of the building, ensuring the permanence and safety of all the residents and visitors we have here in the mayor’s office, where human life is the most important thing for us.»
Particular attention was paid to the ground floor, where a red carpet was laid out that same day. The plaza’s representatives failed to provide information about the event or request the necessary permits from the mayor’s office, violating Civil Protection protocols.
