#SenateOfTheRepublic, #Mexico.- The Morena Parliamentary Group unanimously elected the members of the Senate’s Board of Directors for the second year of the 66th Legislature, with Senator Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante nominated as secretary.
At the beginning of the Morena caucus plenary session, the next members of the Senate’s highest body were elected. Senator Laura Itzel Castillo will preside; Verónica Camino Farjat will serve as vice president; and María Martina Kantún Can will serve as secretary.
Gutiérrez Escalante stated, «It’s time for women; we are four women who will not let you down, and I will spare no effort in giving my best for the benefit of Mexico.»
She said she was honored to be nominated for the position and pledged to lead the legislative work alongside President Castillo Juárez and a group of fellow members.

“Be clear that I will uphold the state I represent, the State of Mexico,” stated the senator from the State of Mexico and former mayor of Tecámac.
Senator Laura Itzel Castillo said that “in this second year of our legislature, we must continue moving forward toward the Second Stage of the Fourth Transformation, toward the establishment of a Constitutional Welfare State.”
This agreement will be voted on tomorrow in the Senate plenary session with all the political parties that comprise it.
