#FederalGovernment#Mexico.- The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, has assured the nation that the Federal Government will spare no effort to assist the people affected by the extraordinary rainfall that battered the states of Veracruz, Puebla, Hidalgo, Querétaro, and San Luis Potosí between 6 and 9 October. In a show of total coordination, the Head of the Federal Executive stressed that work with state and municipal governments is underway to tackle the emergency, confirming that «sufficient resources» are available. This unwavering commitment was reiterated during her participation in the morning press conference, «La mañanera del pueblo,» where she underscored the unity of all authorities involved.

«Let the people of Mexico know that we will give our all, as we always do, but particularly now. And we are not skimping on any effort, any support,» stated the President at the start of the session. She emphasised that differences in political affiliation dissolve during such a crisis, pointing out that «party politics disappear, it has nothing to do with a circumstance like this, we all coordinate and we are providing support.» She specifically highlighted the joint effort of the five governors, including Mauricio Kuri from the PAN party, in a region characterised by a large number of affected municipalities and difficult access.

Regarding the financial stability for the immediate response and subsequent reconstruction efforts, the federal leader detailed that this year’s budget includes an allocation of 19 billion pesos (mdp) for emergency relief. She specified that nearly 3 billion pesos from this fund have already been deployed to aid the states of Guerrero and Oaxaca, which were previously devastated by Hurricane Erick. President Sheinbaum firmly reiterated the government’s pledge, stating: «let them know that we are there and we will be there; we are not going to abandon anyone

To closely monitor the relief operations and the application of funds, the Head of the Executive announced her travel schedule, which includes visits to Hidalgo and Querétaro today, 13 October, followed by San Luis Potosí and the northern area of Veracruz in the coming days. She also extended her gratitude to the private construction companies that have lent their heavy equipment to speed up the clearing of roads. Finally, she urged organisations and citizens wishing to donate essential supplies to coordinate directly with the state governments for the most effective distribution of humanitarian aid.
