#MinistryofCulture, #Mexico.- The youth collective «Orión en la frente», formed within the Creative Seedbed for Theatre in Tecomán, Colima, is proudly representing Mexico at the «Vamos que venimos» World Festival of Adolescent Theatre. This international event, which runs from 7th to 11th October, is being held in the vibrant city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. This notable achievement underscores the talent nurtured through Mexico’s community arts programmes.

The group is scheduled to present their acclaimed play, Cósmica, on Friday, 10th October, at the Pompas Club de Artes, as a formal part of the festival’s official schedule. This festival is recognised as the most important adolescent theatre gathering in Latin America, celebrated for its invaluable commitment to artistic and pedagogical exchange among youth troupes from various nations. The young performers are eager to share their work on this major international platform.

The production of Cósmica, written by Gabriela Román, directed by Héctor Castañeda, and produced by Ana Virgen, marks another significant milestone for the Creative Seedbed. This training space is an initiative of the Secretariat of Culture of the Government of Mexico, driven by the Cultural Linkage Directorate and the Community Culture programme. It fosters community stage creation and strengthens the social fabric through disciplined artistic education.

The collective «Orión en la frente» was established as an independent project by young people who, after years of intense work at the Seedbed, have consolidated their theatrical vocation. For the ensemble, this international experience represents the culmination of a training process that has successfully transcended local borders. Ensemble member Gabriela, 22, shared her perspective: «El Semillero fue el inicio de todo, el que sembró la semillita para poder llegar hasta donde estamos ahorita, que es Argentina.»

The importance of this success was further emphasised by the promoter of children’s and youth participation, Ana Rosa Virgen: «Es muy emocionante ver la evolución de los chicos.» Likewise, Iaín, 17, noted how the programme provided «todas las herramientas posibles para poder llegar hasta el día de hoy, a lo que soy como actor.» This remarkable journey highlights the Seedbed’s methodology, which combines rigorous artistic training with crucial community engagement.
