#FederalGovernment, #Mexico.- The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, has significantly bolstered the institutional presence in the states suffering the impact of extraordinary rainfall, aiming to ensure smooth and effective coordination across all tiers of government. Speaking in a humanised style during her morning press conference, «Las mañaneras del pueblo», the President acknowledged and expressed gratitude for the “much work” and relentless dedication displayed by federal, state, and municipal staff. This tremendous undertaking, which she described as “practically 24/7 as it is known,” emphasises the immediate and robust response of the Mexican State to the climatic emergency now afflicting several regions nationwide.
In order to swiftly implement support and relief operations on the ground, President Sheinbaum has appointed senior officials to oversee efforts across the states of Veracruz, Puebla, Hidalgo, Querétaro, and San Luis Potosí. In Veracruz, the Head of Alimentación para el Bienestar, María Luisa Albores González, is stationed in Álamo; Sebastián Ramírez of Fonatur is in El Higo; Efraín Morales López of Conagua is in Poza Rica; and José Luis Rodríguez Díaz de León of the SSPC is in Tempoal de Sánchez. This strategic deployment of key personnel is intended to expedite aid delivery and the allocation of vital resources within the affected areas.
Continuing her itinerary of support for affected communities, the Head of the Federal Executive announced that she will visit Tamazunchale, San Luis Potosí, this Wednesday, 15th October, as the area is one of the hardest hit by the recent extreme weather. President Sheinbaum’s presence in the municipality of Potosí is designed to directly coordinate relief efforts alongside Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, whilst simultaneously assessing the overall strategy of support for the local populace. Furthermore, she highlighted the vital work being done in Puebla by Leticia Ramírez Amaya, and the dedicated commitment of the Ministry of the Interior teams and the Servidores de la Nación across both Hidalgo and Querétaro.
This unified and comprehensive deployment, which includes officials such as Leticia Ramírez Amaya from the Presidency’s Intergovernmental Affairs office, and the teams from the Ministry of the Interior in Hidalgo and the Servidores de la Nación in Querétaro, ensures narrative coherence in the governmental emergency response. The President’s visit and the designation of high-level representatives on the ground underscore the administration’s commitment to addressing the crisis efficiently, maintaining a close partnership with state governors like Ricardo Gallardo Cardona and demonstrating a singular focus on public welfare during this challenging period.
