#EstadoDeGuerrero, #México.- The Municipal Government, led by Mayor Abelina López Rodríguez, has officially unveiled the schedule for the 18th ‘La Nao Acapulco 2025’ International Festival. Running from 9th to 15th November, the event serves as a cultural hub and a tribute to the legacy of the Manila Galleon trade route. The festival promises a diverse array of cultural activities, concerts, and art exhibitions, reinforcing Acapulco’s historical connection as a gateway between nations.
At a presentation held in Mexico City at the Colegio de San Ildefonso, Minister of Welfare and Community Development, Flora Contreras Santos, extended an official invitation on the Mayor’s behalf. She encouraged the public to attend the multicultural celebration, which this year will feature guest participation from Colombia, Chile, Hungary, and Togo. Contreras Santos emphasised: «The Municipal Government led by Abelina López Rodríguez invites you from 9th to 15th November not to miss this great International La Nao Acapulco 2025 Festival«.
The Minister highlighted that the festival is a «space for cultural exchange» that strengthens the identity of «our beautiful Acapulco» and forges stronger ties between participating nations and sister communities. The Ambassador of Hungary to Mexico, Zoltán Németh, expressed his gratitude for the invitation, saying it was «a great honour, a great pleasure for us to be able to participate». Lumi Dehesa Orozco, widow of the Hungarian sculptor Pal Kepenyes who will be honoured at this edition, also encouraged attendance, stating that «Acapulco has the most beautiful bay in the world«.
Christopher Brito Salgado, Director of Culture for Acapulco, presented the official lineup, noting the festival will feature over 50 cultural activities. These include the opening concert by Colombian singer Charlie Zaa and a closing performance by Mexican artist Edith Márquez, alongside artistic showcases from the visiting countries. The organising committee’s Rodrigo Reyes Martínez confirmed the event will take place across six itinerant venues, including the Fuerte de San Diego and the Zócalo.
