#ISSSTE#Mexico.-  The Director General of the Institute for Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE), Martí Batres Guadarrama, confirmed at President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo‘s «The People’s Morning Conference» that the agency is maintaining its crucial support for populations impacted by recent flooding. Between 11th and 19th October, 21,412 medical services have been delivered across affected territories, including Hidalgo, Puebla, Veracruz, San Luis Potosí, and Querétaro. This ongoing response effort confirms the Government’s sustained commitment to health and safety during the recovery phase.

Martí Batres noted the operation is now moving into a «next phase», with greater assistance being concentrated in Hidalgo and Veracruz as Querétaro and San Luis Potosí move past the most critical stage. He emphasised the President’s key instruction for the relief efforts: the deployment of «medical brigades in the territory for vaccination and medication». These mobile teams are essential for preventive health measures and ensuring continuous care for citizens displaced or affected by the natural disaster.

These widespread medical actions have been made possible by deploying 230 brigades, comprising 1,379 dedicated personnel mobilised from various ISSSTE facilities across the nation. Brigades include staff from regional hospitals in León and Tultitlán, the National Medical Centre «20 de Noviembre,» and other state representations, demonstrating a national unified response. The Director General acknowledged the «companions» who relocated from states such as Guerrero, Tlaxcala, and Aguascalientes to aid the relief efforts.

Batres Guadarrama made a point of extending «recognition» to the dedicated staff, highlighting that 445 colleagues voluntarily relocated from their home entities, including those from FOVISSSTE and SuperISSSTE, to assist in the emergency tasks. This voluntary movement of personnel from across the country underscores the ISSSTE’s capacity for rapid mobilisation and their deep sense of solidarity. Their collective commitment is fundamental to successfully executing the on-the-ground medical relief efforts.
