#Tlalnepantla#StateOfMexico.- A significant fire, caused by a gas accumulation explosion inside a residential property on Fulton Street, within the Tlalcalli Housing Estate, was reported this morning, requiring an immediate and professional response from the Tlalnepantla General Directorate of Civil Protection and Comprehensive Risk Management (DGPCyGIR). The emergency crews demonstrated commendable expertise and swift action, promptly attending to three injured individuals at the scene and transporting one person with more serious injuries to a nearby hospital for specialised care. The rapid deployment of personnel ensured that the situation was effectively managed from the outset, preventing further escalation within the densely populated area.

The Municipal President, Raciel Pérez Cruz, arrived at the disaster site without delay to personally provide support and issue necessary instructions to various municipal departments, extending a gesture of solidarity towards the residents affected by the blast. As a direct consequence of his directives, the Directorate of Social Welfare immediately initiated a comprehensive census to assess the damage and begin the repair process for all affected properties. Furthermore, the DIF Tlalnepantla deployed a comprehensive health team, consisting of three doctors, a nurse, a paramedic, and two assistants, who conducted 15 medical consultations with adults in the on-site ambulance and provided six psychological support sessions for individuals suffering from shock.

Simultaneously, the Directorate of Public Services and Urban Maintenance swiftly arrived with refuse lorries to commence the clearing of rubble and solid waste generated by the explosion and resulting fire, ensuring the area could be safely accessed for clean-up and repair operations. The Directorate also coordinated with the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) to request the immediate disconnection of the power supply to the main building — a vital preventative measure to eliminate any further electrical risks in the damaged structure. In addition to human relief efforts, the Directorate of Sustainability provided crucial assistance, delivering a total of 18 instances of care to affected animals discovered within the vicinity of the incident.

Following the initial emergency response, a meticulous structural evaluation was conducted, which determined that no structural damage had occurred to any of the buildings within the housing estate — a relief for hundreds of residents. However, minor damages such as broken door frames, doors, and window panes were reported across 100 flats, while 20 dwellings sustained severe internal damage due to the force of the blast and the subsequent fire. As a precautionary measure, and while safety assessments were being performed to ensure public security, 275 students from the Narciso Bassols Secondary School and 350 local residents from the affected flats were safely evacuated from the immediate vicinity.

The coordinated and professional response from all municipal agencies — spanning Civil Protection, Welfare, Health, and Public Services — was crucial in containing the situation and providing prompt assistance to the residents of the Tlalcalli Housing Estate. This seamless multi-agency effort underscored the commitment of the Tlalnepantla administration to safeguarding its population and infrastructure during moments of extreme emergency. The priority now shifts towards finalising the damage assessment and swiftly initiating repair work, allowing all affected residents to safely return to their homes and restore normal community life.
