#Naucalpan, #StateOfMexico.- The Mayor, Isaac Montoya Márquez, inspected the considerable progress on the retaining wall being constructed on Calle Uno in the Olímpica Radio 2a. Sección, a vital project. This intervention addresses damage caused by previous rains and the 2018 earthquake, which affected homes and vehicles, a situation worsened by years of “indifference” from previous local authorities.

The Mayor informed residents that the Directorate of Public Works has achieved a forty per cent advance on the wall’s construction, noting that this is a crucial preventive measure. This strategic engineering work will safeguard the lives of residents, their homes and their assets, providing much-needed protection.

He detailed the ambitious scale of the project, which covers a total surface area of 2,030 square metres, requiring 66 tonnes of steel and 629 cubic metres of concrete. It also incorporates 3,160 cubic metres of infill, structured across six sections and a seventy-metre-long counter-wall to ensure maximum stability.

This essential infrastructure work will strengthen the soil and stabilise the terrain, significantly reducing the risks associated with future landslides or severe erosion. The Mayor stressed that addressing this long-standing hazard is a key priority for the current administration.

Mayor Montoya Márquez reaffirmed his commitment, stating: “Nobody is going to be left out, nobody is going to be left behind, it is our conviction and our principles.” He also assured residents that they would deliver a “definitive solution to this landslide demand”, reflecting his personal awareness of the issue long before assuming public office.

The local delegate, J. Carmen Ruíz Chávez, thanked the Mayor for responding to this historic demand that previous administrations had neglected. The Mayor concluded his visit by affirming that seeing the residents’ faces is what motivates his work to achieve the “transformation of the deeper Naucalpan.”
