In Edomex, Atizapán’s child-protection efforts praised as SIPINNA session underscores international progress / @Pedro_RVillegas @GobAtizapan

#AtizapánDeZaragoza#StateOfMexico.- Mayor Pedro Rodríguez chaired the Fourth Ordinary Session of the Municipal System for the Comprehensive Protection of Children and Adolescents (SIPINNA), where he highlighted Atizapán’s exceptional work. He stressed that the transversal efforts supporting local children and adolescents have been essential in positioning the municipality as a global benchmark for successful public policy implementation.

During the session, the Mayor officially swore in the Twelfth Councillor, Jonathan Martínez Monroy, as the newest member of the SIPINNA council. The Technical Secretary of the System, Rodrigo Sánchez de la Peña, then presented the 2025 activity report for this crucial auxiliary body.

The report proudly highlighted a prestigious international award granted to Atizapán by World Vision and Aldeas Infantiles SOS for their sustained efforts. This was further complemented by an acknowledgement from the Academy of Political Arts and Sciences in Washington for “Excellence in a Government Campaign.”

This Washington commendation specifically recognised Atizapán’s “Municipal Guide of Services for Early Childhood,” an innovative initiative that sets a significant precedent for the creation of child-focused public policy. The municipality has also consolidated its position as the first in the nation to sign the Letter of Adhesion with the Educational Policy Laboratory for the “For a Positive Education” project.

The administration also achieved the distinction of becoming the first municipality to successfully establish both its SIPINNA and the Municipal Committee for the Eradication of Child Labour.

These achievements confirm Mayor Rodríguez’s assertion that “Today Atizapán shines not only at a state level but also nationally and internationally,” providing an exemplary model for other regions.
