Minister of Infrastructure leads progress on 17 high schools and UNRC campus across 12 states / @SICT_mx >>>

#MinistryOfCommunicationsAndTransportation#México.- The Government of Mexico, through the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), is making significant progress in the construction of 17 Technological High Schools and a campus of the National University Rosario Castellanos (UNRC), with an overall completion rate of 50 per cent. These projects, spread across 12 states, represent an investment of 1,277 million pesos, benefiting more than 19,500 students at upper secondary and higher education levels. The initiative reflects the Government’s commitment to quality education, inclusion and equity. The first phase of the projects has already yielded visible results in educational infrastructure. The campuses are designed as modern spaces to promote learning and the holistic development of new generations.

At the 17 Technological High Schools, a total of 204 classrooms will be built to accommodate 18,360 students, covering 42,334 square metres and requiring an investment of 1,147 million pesos, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) and state governments. Meanwhile, the UNRC campus in San Luis Teolocholco, Tlaxcala, is 72 per cent complete, with an investment of 130 million pesos, and will cover 13,833 square metres, of which the first phase will occupy 6,440 square metres.

Progress by state highlights the execution pace and regional impact: Baja California, Tijuana 54%; Chihuahua, Juárez 64%; State of Mexico, six campuses 47%; Guanajuato, León 54%; Hidalgo, Tizayuca 65%; Jalisco, El Salto 33%; Nuevo León, Juárez and García 56%; Oaxaca, San Blas Atempa 46%; Puebla, Cuautlancingo 62%; Querétaro, El Marqués 60%; Yucatán, Mérida 54%. Furthermore, around 10 per cent of the workforce are women, underlining SICT’s commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities in the construction of public infrastructure.

These initiatives represent a firm step towards modernising education and expanding opportunities for thousands of students across the country. The campuses will become spaces for academic learning and personal growth, equipped to meet the demands of the twenty-first century. Investment, inter-institutional coordination and a focus on equity reinforce the Government of Mexico’s commitment to quality education and student well-being.
