#Puebla, #México.- The national mandate to ensure healthcare for all is advancing firmly in Puebla, where the Federation and the State Government have established the essential foundations to move decisively towards the universalisation of medical services. This commitment has taken shape through the operational integration of multiple healthcare institutions, marking a significant milestone aligned with the vision of President Claudia Sheinbaum and supported by Governor Alejandro Armenta. The central aim is to guarantee equitable, high-quality care for every resident, regardless of their social security status. This coordinated effort reflects a shared determination to strengthen access and close longstanding gaps in public health provision.
Within this strategic framework, the First Ordinary Session of the Local Committee for Service Exchange was installed and formally inaugurated, reinforcing the state’s capacity to expand and coordinate medical coverage. Raúl Peña Viveros, Director General for Health Planning and Development at the federal Ministry of Health, presented the principles of the New Service Exchange Model, affirming that “Puebla will be one of the states that joins the universalisation of health services”. He emphasised the importance of defining a cohesive health system and envisioning “a different level of access to services in the state”, highlighting the need for collaboration at every institutional level.

Representing Carlos Alberto Olivier Pacheco, Secretary of Health, Jorge David González García, Deputy Secretary, underscored Puebla’s progress in implementing comprehensive care models such as the municipal health network and community participation mechanisms developed through local Health Houses. He stressed the significance of the committee’s installation and the presence of federal authorities as essential elements for achieving effective coordination and transforming the health system for the direct benefit of citizens.
The state administration reiterates its readiness to work closely and continually with the Federation to consolidate this transformation process. Its commitment is to ensure that every person, without exception, receives timely, high-quality medical care, achieving truly universal health services that remain accessible and responsive to the needs of every community across Puebla.
