In the State of Mexico, Pedro Rodríguez strengthens Atizapán’s water infrastructure with a new well and urban works / @Pedro_RVillegas @GobAtizapan

(#Infrastructure – #PublicWorks) *** #AtizapánDeZaragoza, #StateOfMexico.- The Government of Atizapán de Zaragoza, led by Municipal President #PedroRodríguezVillegas, places access to #DrinkingWater and urban transformation at the center of a #PublicWorks initiative with a profound social impact. As Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote, “What is essential is invisible to the eye”; however, for thousands of families, having an adequate water supply constitutes a fundamental need and an indispensable condition for a dignified life. In the #EmilianoZapataNeighborhood, the delivery of a new #DeepWaterWell will strengthen the water supply for approximately 30,000 residents, while #Atizapán continues to consolidate a strategy that connects infrastructure, public services, and community well-being. The project includes a 250-meter-deep well, a flow rate of 15 liters per second, and a storage tank with a capacity of 180,000 liters, in addition to specialized systems for water extraction and disinfection. “My focus has always been here, in Lumbrera; my wife Paty and I have devoted our hearts and souls to changing the lives of thousands and thousands of people from Atizapán,” stated Pedro Rodríguez Villegas.

The water infrastructure project takes on particular significance in an area where water is currently supplied on a rationing schedule, making the new facility a far-reaching and substantial action to expand the municipality’s response capacity. This project is complemented by an urban rehabilitation agenda that includes road paving, the renewal of drinking-water and drainage networks, the construction of sidewalks and curbs, the installation of street lighting, and improvements designed to enhance mobility in Lomas Lindas, 6 de Octubre, Ampliación Demetrio Vallejo, and Lomas de Guadalupe. “We have invested the taxes that families pay with such effort in projects that benefit them,” said Pedro Rodríguez Villegas.

The municipal water policy maintains a long-term outlook: during 2024 and 2025, 69,446,840 pesos were allocated to strengthening the drinking-water supply, directly benefiting more than 164,000 residents; likewise, in 2026, new water sources and measures to address the regional water crisis have been promoted. Within this context, the administration of Pedro Rodríguez Villegas has adopted a forward-looking and sustainable approach by combining new infrastructure, well rehabilitation, and strategies aimed at strengthening Atizapán’s water security. “I want to continue supporting this community, and I am certain that together we will achieve it,” said Pedro Rodríguez Villegas.

“We have devoted our hearts and souls to changing the lives of thousands and thousands of people from Atizapán,” stated Pedro Rodríguez Villegas, reaffirming a government approach focused on directly addressing community needs.

In my opinion, the combination of water infrastructure and road rehabilitation reflects a visionary and decisive course of action, whose significance goes beyond the physical execution of public works to influence quality of life, mobility, and the improvement of public spaces. The result is an agenda that prioritizes concrete solutions and brings municipal services closer to families across different communities.

For Pedro Rodríguez Villegas, public works acquire their true meaning when they become part of people’s everyday well-being; as Confucius reminds us, “The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.” Under this principle, the initiatives undertaken in Atizapán possess a lasting and substantive character, transforming longstanding needs into infrastructure capable of generating benefits for present and future generations. #AtizapánAdvances
